How does a sibling discount work?
A sibling discount reduces the fee when more than one child from the same family is enrolled at the same school, tuition centre, daycare, sports academy or activity club. Most institutions charge the full fee for one child and take a percentage (or a fixed amount) off the fee for the second, third and later children.
Worked example
Three children each pay ₹5,000 a month. The school gives 0% on the first child, 10% on the second and 15% on the third.

What to check with your school or class
- Does the discount apply to tuition only, or to transport, activity and admission fees as well?
- Is it given to the younger child, the child with the lower fee, or the child with the highest fee paying in full? The "Who pays the full fee?" option above lets you test both.
- Is there a cap, or does it need siblings to be enrolled in the same year?
- Does the discount continue if one child leaves?

How to calculate a sibling discount?
Multiply each eligible child's fee by the discount percentage and subtract it from the fee. Example: 10% off a ₹5,000 fee is ₹500, so the child pays ₹4,500.
Does the first child get a discount?
Usually not. The first child pays the full fee and the discount starts from the second child, though policies vary.
Should the discount go on the older or the younger child?
It depends on the institution. Many give it on the lower fee so the highest fee is paid in full. Choose the option that matches your school's rule in the calculator.
Can I use a flat amount instead of a percentage?
Yes. Change the discount type to flat amount and enter the rupee amount taken off for the second, third and later children.
